Recently on a drive up to Mt. Haleakala I was contemplating how our Higher Selves are always calling to us . At that moment a song by Deva Premal and Miten came on my friend’s stereo and captured my attention. I had never heard it before but it sung to my heart. The first line was, “We are awakening to the calling of the mystic.”
“That’s it !” I said out loud My friend looked over at me and asked me to explain. “You see “I said “ I believe that there is a part of each of us that wants to have our lives be more mystical and magical, rather than just mundane.” I went on to explain that we live on so many dimensions at once but most of our attention goes to the concrete tasks at hand like paying the bills , going to work, driving the kids to school etc.
When I got home after my strenuous hike on the mountain I looked up mystical in the dictionary. Merriam-Webster defines it as: 1; spiritual 2: relating to direct communion with God.
The longer I walk this path of life, the more I realize that everyone is spiritual and is awakening to their mystical selves, whether they know it or not. Yet, we can consciously invite into our lives paranormal experiences that make us feel more connected and alive. As a teacher of channeling I instruct students in opening their hearts and minds to receive love, guidance and support from the other realms. We all have non-physical guides who are there to assist us in our day to day activities and decisions. The angelic kingdom, Ascended Masters and Deceased loved ones who watch over us delight in the opportunity to connect and offer their light to our world.
As we learn to quiet the mind we are able to tune into these more subtle frequencies and actually feel the presence of these inter-dimensional beings who love us. I have seen even the firmest skeptic soften when they have a direct experience of the Divine in their life.
Moments of transcendence often come unheralded or uninvited. We may be sitting in a park and suddenly feel the presence of an angel or guide or loved one from the other side, or we may be guided to go to a certain place and run into a significant person who says just the right thing.
Last week while writing at the beach l got a call from a woman who was deeply grieving the loss of her husband. I invited her to join me. When she arrived I told her that I was writing an article about “The Calling”. She laughed through her tears and said that she had been guided to call me at that moment. We are all called but do we answer when Spirit asks us to show up?
The presence of her deceased husband permeated the air. We both tuned into his energy and asked for guidance from him about the challenging situation that she is enduring. He lovingly reassured us about the positive outcome of the trials she is going through and I witnessed my friend relax into the moment in a very gentle and open way. We sat together in the late afternoon light of a beautifully mystical experience.
