When hope is alive in a person’s heart there is a possibility of living in a state of utopia. As a practicing psychic, I see many clients who come for sessions because they have lost hope in some area of their life. Perhaps they have lost their dream of ever meeting their true love or they are struggling with an illness or facing financial ruin. These fears and worries grip them and they become unhappy in their lives regardless of the fact that they are living on Maui which is what many would consider being an idyllic island.
Many people come to Maui as part of their life dream. They may have fantasized for years about visiting or living in this tropical paradise. Yet, they take their internal dialogue with them wherever they go .If the inner voice is loving and supportive then a person will feel good about themselves and can experience a little bit of heaven on Earth.. If the internal voice is critical and blaming, then the world turns into an unfriendly, hellish place and they will be unhappy even though surrounded by beauty and natural wonders. I recently sat in the emergency room at the bedside of a friend who had tried to commit suicide. I knew he had been having health challenges, financial hardship and relationship issues. What I didn't know was how deeply these issues had consumed his hope and trust in himself and life. The inner anguish pushed him to give up and run away. Yet, he was saved! The great divine stepped in and brought an unexpected person to his door that found him and took him to the ER. A few days after the event my friend and I laughed together at how he failed to be in control even in his suicide attempt. Life was not done with him yet. There are still some dreams to resurrect and live.
While a suicide attempt is an extreme example of focusing on the negative rather than the positive, I think it behooves us all to stop and consider how we are experiencing life. Are we stuck in fear and negativity or are we nurturing our dreams and keeping hope alive?
Life is not meant to be a struggle and filled with adversity. There is a way we can let go and trust, change our resistant and controlling behaviors and believe again in the goodness of life. When we open to the deeper peace that is ever flowing, we can relax, breathe, and remember that we are already enough. We don't have to prove that we are strong or secure or smart or beautiful or gifted. We simply become the embodiment of love and we live our lives from that place of knowing. Hope comes naturally when we love ourselves. Fear disappears when we know that tomorrow is a new day and offers a new opportunity for loving and living life more fully.
Maui is blessed with some of the world’s greatest dreamers, teachers, artists, musicians, writers and philosophers. Let’s unite in positive visioning and create a utopian environment here that will give the world hope. Remember, utopia starts in your own heart and trusting your dreams to grow.
