September, I find, is often a very busy time that follows the relaxation of summer. There is a push in the air that I feel more than the rest of the year. A brisk motivating breeze to get things done and be productive. This can result in me pushing myself too hard and needing to remember the value of rest and replenishing myself spiritually. A walk in the woods or sitting at my altar meditating are two of the best ways for me to reconnect with my inner essence.
However, sometimes by mid-day I find myself in need of spiritual renewal even if I have already meditated or walked that morning. This is especially true in busy months, when there are multiple things on the go. Times like this are when I listen to peaceful and uplifting music in my car, which relaxes me as I drive to and fro, from my appointments. I also keep a rose spray bottle in my car and spritz myself as needed if I’m feeling weary or harried. The scent of rose brings a feeling of peace back to my heart and grounds me into the present moment. In addition to both of these little aids, I have an app on my phone with numerous short and long meditations and visualizations which guide me back to a place of peace. I always try to have more than one way for a quick spiritual pick me up, no matter where I am.
Just as my body needs to be replenished with food throughout the day, my spirit needs to be recharged and refreshed as well. I invite you to prioritize your spiritual well-being and take time to revitalize yourself. Pick a few ways you can spritz and go (whether it be a relaxing scent, music, or meditation). When you refresh your inner self throughout the day, your energy remains balanced.
